Shocking realization revealed
When I read the Bitcoin Standard, I was floored by a couple of revelations that changed my world outlook. The most memorable of these is that WW1 and WW2 could never have been financed without the government’s ability to print money. Can you imagine a world where these wars never happened? I can not. There are many corollary effects, but that one stunned me for days.
I had another epiphany reading Ch 5 of the Fiat Standard, which is the difference between saving and investing. It never even occurred to me that such a thing as saving in Saifedean’s definition could possibly exist. I can’t begin to imagine how much worry and distress I could have avoided in my life if true saving were possible. I’m talking about a significant change in the quality of my life!
Without Saifedean’s books, I would never have been exposed to these ideas.
