    Hi,

in the discussion on chapter 16 on violence Saif makes an argument about having the choice of NOT living with drug users as well as the choice of doing any drug.

He argues that in a free society there would perhaps be communities were you would be contractually obligated to for example use drugs in order to live there. I would love to hear more about this argument.

I can see how that would work for a newly established area where everyone signs this contract when buying a house. But how could something like this be applied on already established communities?

One option would be to have a democratic vote, but that wouldn’t work under a free anarchist society.

How would you get rid of the already established drug users?

Or is the only option for people with that vision to move, and pioneer a new community?

There is no contradiction between democratic elections and spontaneous orders. On a levelled playing field, with sound money, spontaneous orders and hierarchies will naturally form based on the needs and desires of free-thinking humans. Governments, for example, I believe emerged out of a common recognition to uphold certain values. But while formed out of human action, many are upheld unnaturally right now out of human design, because they control the monetary supply.
